Most manipulatives are single purpose tools, helpful in presenting and explaining a narrowly defined concept. Because these individual manipulatives aren’t designed to work together, learning math “ in pieces” often means that children don’t know how to assemble the pieces into a comprehensive understanding of numbers and operations.
The innovative design combines brains and beauty to make sense of math. We designed Zillio to present an integrated, already assembled, complete model of math. Children learn how math is an exact science, with well-defined rules and a precise vocabulary to explain how numbers relate to each other. Their sense of discovery and joy focuses on making sense of math and how it all fits together.
